Richard graduated from San Jose State University with honors in 1986 with a Bachelor of Science in Finance & Economics. He started in the insurance business in 1987 in the San Francisco financial district, working in his family’s business as the Director of Life & Health.
He also worked, and still does today, as a Brokerage General Agent, recruiting, training and supporting life insurance agents in the sales of life insurance with most of the leading insurance companies in that market. In 2003 Richard completed all the course requirements to earn the designation of Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) with the American College.
In the year 2000 he started his own independent insurance agency, Progressive Concepts Insurance & Financial Services, Inc. In 2005 he earned the designation of Certified Financial Planner (CFP)
